Hello there!

I know that I have not been really much active in the past weeks, though I am working on stuffs, don't worry. ; w;
So, since I was currently having very low artistic inspiration recently, I've decided to cheer up myself and have read many, many people's tips about arts, e.t.c.
And there, I've decided to make my own little journal on the matter. My tips are based on everything I once read or personally faced, so go ahead and read. I simply pass it to you.
I hope it would help someone out there too~♥

:star:-The best way to get better at arting is to practice, and practice again.
Practice makes perfect, simple say and couldn't explain it better. Take your time, nobody have the same speed rate when it comes to learning. Just takes it at your own pace. It is not a race. Be critical, but also appreciative of your draws. Anything would be useful, either you failed or not. Find your strong and bad points.
Remember. Being bad at something is the first step towards being good at something.

:star:-Using references is completely a fine thing, don't be afraid of it.
I honestly don't know why people think that true artists don't use references, but this is untrue. Believe me.
Using references from real life is as old as the earth and you could not find a better source to study from. The most famous old painters from history was doing it, Disney do it when they creates their movies and characters, even games makers do that. In the end, every things always end up coming back at looking at the good old nature, so don't be afraid, use references and study from them. It is far from being a bad thing and never let someone telling you the contrary.

:star:-Need help? Don't be afraid to ask.
It is like in school and when you get at a teacher to explain you a thing you are not sure of.
Asking for help is very important and you should not be afraid of it. Outside assistances can makes more good than what you can think.
Getting advices from others artists is awesome, even if it is as simple as looking at drawing tutorials. Seek for helps with no shame.

:star:-You are not a lone island in the sea.
As every humans being, you will get inspired and would adapt other people styles to your own, it's inevitable and this is how the brain often work. And it should not be seen as a negative thing. You would always learn from your own specie, look at their behaviors, it is natural and is into human's natures. Artists inspire other artists. Writers does the same between each others. This goes on. Every artist's styles are a mashup of hundred of other artists. Have discretion, study what you like from other artists's works and comprehend how they made a certain thing. If they made tutorials, look at them. Make lot of experimentations, it is okay. Many famous artists learn from one another, even happened throughout past history.

:star:-Try to draw the most often as possible and when you are able to.
This goes as practices. Sure, it don't mean that you need to draw every single days, but when you feel alright and enough strength for it, draw.
Draw as much as you can so you could advance. Don't limit yourself.

:star:-Art block? Feeling stuck? Try something totally new.
This goes as simple as just trying to draw something you never tried to before, another media, another subject of drawing, e.t.c.
This is sometimes the best way to get you out of a dead end. Go wild and try something totally new!

:star:-No matter what, someone out there is going to be better than you, always.
Trust me, I know how hard this struggle is being an artist myself and I often can avoid art websites just to not fall into this black pit.
Avoid comparing yourself to others, but try giving you challenges instead. See the good points of it, think positive.
You see them better? Then try making something better, this can as well give you new goals, who knows. Challenge your skills!

:star:-Not all of your artworks are going to be good.
This is true, but it is like this that we can determine and seperate a masterpiece from the rest, no? Everything you would draw would not always look good, but this is how you will improve.
Every drawings is a step ahead, don't be afraid to fail. Make errors, but stand up. This is how learning go.

:star:-Don't let anybody drag your works down, no matter what. Don't let anyone tell you what is bad or not.
As sad as it is, any artists could face this kind of situations at some point. Posting your artworks on internet get you exposed to any views. But remember, nobody should police you on internet. You would meet people which would force their opinions on you and this is actually a close minded behavior. Nobody should tell you that what you are doing is wrong, neither that what you are drawing is bad. Nobody should judge and think they can drag you or your arts down. They are offended or don't like what they are seeing? They should pass their ways and keep on their life instead. If this happens, ignore them and keep going, don't feed the trolls or bullies. Replying to them would get you nowhere because obviously they would think they are right no matter what, you don't need to waste time with getting dragged down.
Instead, just keep drawing. It would be more mature and productive.

:star:-And another important thing, encourage yourself. Believe in you.
Whatever you can think, whatever you can create, you are unique. Even if you see it or not, only you could create the art pieces you have made and you should keep at giving yourself pats in the back for it. "Everything" you do, you are doing fine. Praise yourself to have getting this far. Keep at doing what you love, never see it as a bore or chore. Do it because you like it, you are awesome and would always be~<3
